Isaiah 55 Jacob

This is a map between Isaiah 55 and the book of Jacob (James). The key matches in the map are Come, Near and Rain.

Come

13 Isaiah 55:1-2
55 1Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat; yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2Why do you spend money for what is not bread? And your labor for what does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and you will eat what is good, and your soul will be delighted in delicacies.

55 Jacob 2:14-17
17 14Though a man say he has faith, what profit is it, my brothers, if he does not have works? Can faith save him?
15If a brother or sister be naked and lacking of daily food,
16and one of you says to him, Depart in peace, be warmed and be filled; yet you do not give to him those things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?
17Even so, by itself, faith without works is dead.

Covenant

13 Isaiah 55:3-5
3Incline your ear, and come to me; listen to me, and your soul will live; and I will make an everlasting contract with you, even the sure mercies of David.
4Look, I have given you for a witness to the Gentiles, a ruler and leader to the nations.
5For you will call nations that you do not know, and nations that did not know you will run to you because of Yahvah your God, and because of the Holy One of Israel; for he has glorified you.

55 Jacob 2:23
23And the Scripture was fulfilled which said, Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness; and he was called the Friend of God.

Near

13 Isaiah 55:6-7
6Seek Yahvah; and when you find him, call on him while he is near;
7let the sinner forsake his way, and the wicked man his thoughts; and let him return to Yahvah, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

55 Jacob 4:8
8Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners. And purify your hearts, you of doubtful mind.

Plans

13 Isaiah 55:8-9
8For my thoughts are not like your thoughts, my ways are not like your ways says Yahvah.
9For as the skies are higher than the land, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

55 Jacob 4:13-15
22 13What, then, will we say of those who say, Today or tomorrow we will go to a certain city and will work there a year and will trade and prosper?
14They do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is our life? It is but a vapor which appears for a little while and then vanishes away.

15Instead of that, they should say, If Master will, we will live and do this or that.

Rain

13 Isaiah 55:10-11
10For as the rain and the snow come down from the skies, and does not return in there, but waters the land and makes it bring forth and sprout and gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
11so will my word be that goes forth out of my mouth; it will not return to me void, but it will do what I please and it will accomplish that for which I sent it.

55 Jacob 5:7
26 7But my brothers, be patient until the coming of Master, just as the farmer waits for the precious crop of his field, and has long patience for it, until he receives the early and the latter rain.

Sing

13 Isaiah 55:12
12For you will go out with joy, and be led forth with peace; the mountains and the hills will break forth before you into singing and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

55 Jacob 5:13
29 13If any among you be afflicted, let him pray. If any be merry, let him sing psalms.

Drought

13 Isaiah 55:13
13Instead of the thorn will come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier will come up the myrtle; and it will be to Yahvah for a name, for an everlasting sign that will not be cut off.

55 Jacob 5:17-18
17Even Elijah, who was a weak man like ourselves, prayed earnestly that it might not rain on the land, and it did not rain for 3 years and 6 months.
18And he prayed again, and the skies gave rain and the land brought forth her fruits.
