Isaiah 49 Second Timothy

The following is a start at a map between Isaiah 49 and the book of Second Timothy.

Calling

13 Isaiah 49:1
49 1Listen to me, isles; listen to me, nations, Yahvah has called me from far away; from the womb, and from the body of my mother he has made mention of my name.

49 Second Timothy 1:9
9who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own will and his grace, which was given us in Jesus Messiah before the world began,

?

13 Isaiah 49:2-3
2He has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand he has hidden me and made me a chosen arrow; in his quiver he has hidden me,
3and said to me, You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will be glorified.

Trust

13 Isaiah 49:4
4I have not said to the sons of Jacob that I have labored in vain, nor that I have spent my strength for nothing. Surely my judgment is before Yahvah, and my work before my God.

49 Second Timothy 1:12
12For this cause, I suffer these things; nevertheless, I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have trusted, and I am sure he will take care of me until that day.

?

13 Isaiah 49:5
5Now Yahvah says who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel together; I am glorified in the eyes of Yahvah, and my God has become my strength.

Gentiles

13 Isaiah 49:6
6And he said: It is a small thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the heirs of Israel; I have given you to be a light to the Gentiles, that you might be my salvation to the ends of the land.

49 Second Timothy 4:17
17Nevertheless, my Master stood by me and strengthened me, that by me, the preaching might be fulfilled and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

?

13 Isaiah 49:7-26
7Yahvah, the Holy One of Israel and his Savior says to him whose soul is despised, to him who is abhorred by the people and by the servants of the rulers: Kings will see and arise, princes will also worship him, because of Yahvah who is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel who has chosen you.

8Yahvah says, In an acceptable time I have answered you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you; and I have formed you and have given you for a contract to the people and a light to the Gentiles, to establish the land, to cause you to possess the desolate heritages;
9that you may say to the prisoners, Go forth; to those who are shut up, Show yourselves. Come out. They will feed in the paths and their pastures will be in all highways.
10They will not hunger nor thirst; nor will the sultry heat nor the sun strike them; for he who is merciful to them will lead them, and by the springs of water he will bring them.
11And I will make all mountains to be highways, and the highways will be exalted.
12Look, these will come from far away, and look, these from the north and from the islands of the sea, and these from the coast of Sinim.

13Sing, skies, and be joyful, land, and break forth into singing, mountains; for Yahvah has comforted his people and will have mercy on his afflicted.

14But Zion said, Yahvah has forsaken me and Master has forgotten me.

15Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, but I will not forget you.
16Look, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands; your fortified walls are continually before me.
17Your sons who caused your destruction and those who laid you waste will make haste and go forth from you.
18Lift up your eyes all around and look; they gather themselves together and come to you. Yahvah says, As I live you will surely clothe yourself with all of them as with an ornament, and you will be adorned like a bride.

19For your waste and your desolate places and the land of your destruction will even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and those who swallowed you up will flee away.
20The children which you will have during the time of your bereavement will say again in your ears, The place is too narrow for us; make room for us to live.
21Then you will say in your heart, Who has borne me these? For look, I have been bereaved and barren, a captive, and wandering to and fro. And who has brought up these? Look, I was left alone; and these children, where have they been?

22Master Yahvah says, Look, I will lift up my hand to the Gentiles and set up my standard to the nations; and they will bring your sons in their arms, and your daughters will be carried on their shoulders.
23And kings will be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers; they will bow down to you with their faces to the ground and will lick the dust off your feet; and you will know that I am Yahvah; for they who wait for me will not be ashamed.

24Can the prey be taken away from the mighty, or a giant's captives be delivered?
25For Yahvah says, Even the prey of the mighty will be taken away, and the captives of the mighty will be delivered; and I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children.
26And I will cause your oppressors to eat their own flesh; and they will be drunk with their own blood as with new wine; and all men will know that I, Yahvah, am your Savior and your Helper, the Mighty One of Jacob.
