56 First Timothy

Keep

13 Isaiah 56:1-2
56 1Yahvah says, Keep judgment, and do justice; for my salvation will come soon and my righteousness will be revealed.
2Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold on it; he who also keeps the sabbath that he may not profane it, and guards his hands from doing any evil.

56 First Timothy 1:3-7
3When I went to Macedonia, I begged you to remain at Ephesus, so that you might charge certain ones not to teach diverse doctrines,
4and not to give attention to fables and stories of endless genealogies, which cause dispute, rather than build up the faith of god.
5Now the fulfillment of the commandment is love, out of a pure heart and of a good conscience and of a true faith,
6from which some have gone astray and have turned aside to foolish words,
7desiring to be teachers of the law; not understanding what they speak, nor even what they argue.

Sons

13 Isaiah 56:3-5
3Do not let the son of the stranger who follows Yahvah speak saying, Yahvah has utterly separated me from his people; nor let the eunuch say, Look, I am a dry tree.
4For Yahvah says, To the eunuchs who keep my sabbaths and choose the things that please me and take hold of my contract,
5I will give to them in my house and inside my walls a place and a name better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that will not be cut off.

56 First Timothy 1:18-2:0
34 18This charge I commit to you, my son Timothy, in accordance with the prophecies given about you before, that you might fight a good fight
19in faith and good conscience; those who have rejected this charge have lost their faith;
20namely, Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have delivered to the accuser to be disciplined, so that they may no longer blaspheme.

Prayer

13 Isaiah 56:6-7
6Also to the sons of the strangers who follow Yahvah, to serve him and to love the name of Yahvah, to be his servants, each who keeps from profaning the sabbath and takes hold of my contract,
7even them I will bring to my holy mountain and make them joyful in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all peoples.

56 First Timothy 2:1-2
35 1Therefore I beg you first of all to offer to god petitions, prayers, supplications, and thanksgiving for all men,
2for kings and for all in authority; that we may live a quiet and peaceable life, in all purity and godliness.

Gather

13 Isaiah 56:8
8Master Yahvah, who gathers the outcasts of Israel says: Yet I will gather others to him, besides those who were gathered to him.

56 First Timothy 2:3-4
3For this is good and acceptable in the sight of god our savior,
4who desires all men to be saved and to return to the knowledge of the truth.

Elders

13 Isaiah 56:9-57:0
9All the animals of the field, come to devour, yes, all you animals in the forest.
10All that are blind can see, but they do not know; they are all mute dogs, they cannot bark; they see, but they lie down and slumber.
11Yes, they are greedy dogs that can never have enough, they are so wicked that they cannot understand; they have all turned aside to their own way, each for his own gain and his own advantage.
12Come, they say, let us get wine, and let us fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow will be like this day, and much more will be left over for us.

56 First Timothy 3:2-7
2He who becomes an elder must be blameless, the husband of 1 wife, alert mentally, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, and apt at teaching;
3not given to wine, not hasty to strike, not quarrelsome, but meek, not greedy for filthy profit;
4one who rules his own house well and keeps his sons under submission to bring them up with all purity.
5For if a man does not know how to rule his own house well, how will he take care of the church of god?
6He should not be a recent convert, lest he become proud and fall into the condemnation of the devil.
7Furthermore, he must have a good report from outsiders, lest he fall into disgrace and the snares of the devil.
