47 Second Thessalonians

God's Judgment

13 Isaiah 47:1-5
47 1Come down and sit in the dust, virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground; there is no throne, daughter of the Chaldeans; for you will not be called tender and delicate any longer.
2Take the millstone and grind flour; remove your veil, cut off your white hair, uncover your legs, pass through the rivers.
3Your nakedness will be uncovered, yes, your shame will be seen; I will execute vengeance on you, and I will not meet you as a man.
4As for our savior, Yahvah of hosts is his name, the holy one of Israel.

5Sit silent and go into darkness, daughter of the Chaldeans; for you will not be called, The mightiest of kingdoms, any longer.

47 Second Thessalonians 1:5
5This is an example of the righteous judgment of god, that you may be made worthy of his kingdom, for which you also suffer.

Trouble

13 Isaiah 47:6
6I was angry with my people, for they have polluted my inheritance, so I delivered them into your hands; you showed them no mercy; on the elders you have very heavily laid your yoke.

47 Second Thessalonians 1:6-7
6And if it seems a righteous thing before the presence of god, he will repay tribulation to those who oppress you;
7and to you, who are oppressed, he will grant to be at peace with us, when Master Jesus, an anointed, will be revealed from the skies with the host of his angels,

End

13 Isaiah 47:7
7And you said, I will be a mighty one forever; so that you did not lay these things to your heart, nor remembered its end.

47 Second Thessalonians 1:8-10
8at which time, he will avenge with flaming fire, those who do not know god, and those who do not acknowledge the thinking of Master Jesus, an anointed;
9for they, at the judgment day, will be rewarded with everlasting destruction from the presence of master and from the glory of his power,
10when he comes to be glorified by his saints and to perform his wonders among his faithful ones, so that our testimony concerning you may be believed in that day.

As God

13 Isaiah 47:8-11
8Now let her hear these things, she who is given to pleasures, who lives in tranquillity, who says in her heart, I am, and there is no one else besides me; I will not sit as a widow, nor will I know the loss of sons;
9but these 2 plagues will come on you in a moment, in 1 day: the loss of sons and widowhood; they will come on you suddenly, for the multitude of your sorceries, and for the multitude of your magicians.

10For you have trusted in your wickedness; you have said, No one sees me. Your wisdom and your knowledge have misled you; and you have said in your heart, I am, and there is no one else besides me.
11Therefore evil will come on you in the early morning, and you will not know where it rises from; and mischief will fall on you and you will not be able to put it off; and desolation will come on you suddenly, which you will not know.

47 Second Thessalonians 2:3-4
3Let no man deceive you by any means; for that day will not come unless it is preceded by a rebellion, and the man of sin be revealed as the son of perdition,
4who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called god, or that is reverenced; so that even in the temple of god, he sits as a god, and shows himself, as though he were a god.

Sorcery

13 Isaiah 47:12
12Stand now with your magicians and with the multitude of your sorceries in which you have labored from your youth; perhaps you may be able to profit, perhaps you may strengthen yourself.

47 Second Thessalonians 2:6-7
6And, now you know what has prevented him from being revealed in his time.
7For the mystery of iniquity is already at work until he who is now the obstacle is taken out of the way.

Fire

13 Isaiah 47:13-14
13You are wearied in the multitude of your thoughts. Let the Chaldeans stand up now and save you, those who gaze into the skies and at the stars; let them foretell by the moon the things that will come on you.

14Look, they have become as stubble which is consumed by the fire; they will not deliver themselves from the power of the flame; there are no coals to warm them, nor fire to sit before.

47 Second Thessalonians 2:8-9
8Then the wicked one will be exposed, that one whom Master Jesus will consume with the spirit of his mouth, and will destroy with the revelation of his coming,
9even he, whose coming is due to the working of the accuser, with all power and signs and lying wonders,

Saved

13 Isaiah 47:15-48:0
15Thus they have become to you, your merchants with whom you have labored from your youth, they have wandered each to his quarter, and there is none to save you.

47 Second Thessalonians 2:10
10and with all deceitfulness of unrighteousness in those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might thereby be saved.
